Maypole Fisheries is a family run business located in the thriving market town of Otley, West Yorkshire. It is run by Lee and Elly Hodnett, and has been run by the Hodnett Family for the past 14 years.


Quality and preparation of the finest ingredients

Our potatoes come from a local supplier who sources the best product for our use at any one time. The potatoes are peeled and chipped each day,on the premises to ensure optimum freshness.

All our fish is sourced from sustainably managed fishing grounds, where fish stock levels are monitored constantly.

The fish is frozen at sea to maintain ultimate freshness. Our trained and experienced staff fillet the fish daily in our food preparation room. All fishcakes and scallops are prepared each day, on site, using our first class ingredients.

Our peas are soaked overnight and cooked fresh every day to make the best traditional mushy peas.

Cooking and serving

We, and our trained and experienced staff are committed to providing the best Customer Service possible, and the best Fish and Chips you can eat! We use the best ingredients available, and cook them in the best quality Beef Fish and Chips should be cooked!

We have in place a Kirenco high efficiency frying range, and trained and experienced fryers who ensure that the chips, and fish that is coated in our homemade batter, are cooked for the optimum time, and at the optimum temperature to result in the maximum taste an texture of every meal we serve.

All our food is cooked to order. This commitment to excellent food and service is a priority for us in both our Take-Away and 34 seat restaurant.

We are more than happy to provide glasses if you bring your own alcohol to the restaurant, and we do not charge a corkage fee.

We can deliver larger group Take-Away orders locally, free of charge, on request.
